tulle

For this job you will need sharp scissors.
Tulle, pronounced tool, or that net stuff, is probably one of the most recognizable materials for weddings. It is sold in many lengths and for our purposes a 2 or 3 inch wide size is just about right.

As with some of the other boxes you will need to know how much tulle it will take to do a box.
Use the string method to estimate the length of tulle for one box and multiply it by the total number of boxes you will be decorating.

Don’t forget to add enough to make the bow on the top. Pick a piece up from the craft store and practice tying different types of bows.

One of the nice things about tulle is that it looks fine even if it is not wrapped perfectly. Relax and have fun.

Get Started

  • Begin by placing the box in front of you.
  • Center there piece of tulle on top of the box and wrap it around.
  • Make a 1/4 turn twist on the bottom and bring the ends to the top..
  • Tie an over hand knot and bow or a double overhand knot if you are simply flaring the ends.
  • One person hold the ribbons in place and the other person moves the bottom ribbon to the top spot .

Tip … Use a size that needs to be bunched up or fold a wider piece in half or thirds before wrapping.

These are easy to transport as the tulle will spring back if lightly crushed.
