The light stoneware favor color is actually the color of the clay after its been fired.

The little specks are from different ingredients in the clay which turn dark when the clay is fired in the kiln.

We use the light stoneware clay for the maple leaves in the leaf chimes and it also works well for the heart or butterfly chimes.

This clay is not suitable for ornaments as it is fired so hard that the oil will not absorb but this same feature gives the pieces a nice ring when used in the chimes.

Light stoneware is a nice earth color and matches the dark stoneware very well.
